Meet Doug! Doug is an Account Executive at Crutchfield & Graves Insurance Agency and is currently serving his 2nd term as the Mitchell’s Place Junior Board President. For the past 8 years, Doug has impressed us with his incredible volunteer services and dedication to our mission. We were thrilled to ask him some questions about his time serving on our Junior Board!
What interested you to begin your service with Mitchell’s Place?
I wanted to find a way to give back to individuals in our community, and in 2014, I had the opportunity to do that by joining the Mitchell’s Place Junior Board.
What have you most enjoyed as a member of the Junior Board?
I’ve enjoyed watching Mitchell’s Place grow since I joined the Junior Board. I remember being at the ground breaking for the addition to the location off of Overton Road and now having a second location located in the Southside neighborhood of Birmingham.
Why would you recommend someone to get involved with Mitchell’s Place Junior Board?
I recommend getting involved with the Junior Board because you’re helping Mitchell’s Place unlock the potential for thousand of families around the southeast who have children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
In your experience, what do you think Mitchell’s Place and Junior Board events such as Funky Fish Fry, brings to the community?
Funky Fish Fry and other Junior Board events not only raise money allowing Mitchell’s Place to assist thousands of families around the southeast who’re in need of specialized services for their children with ASD; these events also support many of our local businesses throughout our community.
We are so thankful for Doug’s commitment to Mitchell’s Place and on-going dedication to our mission. Thank you, Doug, for all you do to serve Mitchell’s Place and spread awareness throughout our community!
