Occupational Therapy is a healthcare profession that focuses on helping people across the lifespan participate in any activity they deem meaningful, which are called “occupations.” A child’s most important occupation is play! Difficulties with fine motor skills, sensory processing skills, motor planning, and attention to task can greatly impact a child’s ability to participate in their occupations. At Mitchell’s Place, pediatric occupational therapy services are provided by licensed professionals through play-based activities. Our OTs help children acquire the developmental skills necessary to participate in their daily self-care activities, school readiness tasks, and functional play.
