ABA Outpatient Services

Our ABA Outpatient Program offers intensive one-on-one therapy based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior.  This program is available for children on the Autism Spectrum that are in PreK through 3rd Grade.  Individualized treatment plans are developed and supervised by Gunter Owens, one of two Board Certified Behavior Analysts we have on-site. These individualized plans focus on acquisition of foundational language skills and learning skills, as well as academic skills.

ABA Outpatient Services include:

-Skill Assessment (e.g., ABLLS-R, VBMAPP)

-Individualized Treatment plans for skill Acquisition
-Discrete Trial training/Teaching (DTT)

-Natural Environment Training/teaching (NET)
-Direct Instruction targeting language and academic skills (e.g. , SRA Reading Mastery, SRA Language for Learning)
-Daily data collection and analysis
-Verbal Behavior Approach

ABA Outpatient Services are provided at Mitchell’s Place in the White House next to our main building. One-on-one sessions are 1, 2, or 3 hours long and are available 1-5 days a week; ABA therapists are supervised by Amy Cox. Services are offered year round, with the exception of spring break, Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July and federal holidays

Assessments:

The Verbal Behavior-Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) and/or the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills-Revised (ABLLS-R) are used to identify strengths and weaknesses and guide the development of individualized treatment plans.

Foundational language and learning skills are taught using Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) and Natural Environment Teaching (NET).  Academic skills are taught using Direct Instruction curricula (e.g., SRA Reading Mastery).
